Templates to tick off, not adviceThe tool does not replace legal advice, medical or dental advice, or training. Whether a routine works for your child depends on you and your child, and the tool makes no promises about it. “Preschool” means about 3 to 6 years. The level is a suggestion, not a statement about the curriculum: Curricula differ from state to state, and I have not checked what is taught in which grade.

1 · Who it is for

2 · The tooth brushing chart

The chart begins on this day, it does not have to be a Monday. Every week in the chart has 7 days from the start date.

How long

You fill this in yourself, for example a trip or a game. If it stays empty, the sheet has a line to fill in. The tool says nothing about whether a reward works.

Cards per sheet

Two cards stacked fill the sheet in portrait (A4), and you cut in the middle. Every name or copy is printed once.

Guidance, not dental adviceThe sheet follows statements of the German Federal Ministry of Health (Bundesgesundheitsministerium) and the German Dental Association (Bundeszahnärztekammer): at least twice a day, at least 2 minutes, in the order chewing surfaces, outer surfaces, inner surfaces. The third box is there because the German Dental Association names up to three times a day for children from 2 to 6 years. According to the German Dental Association, adults brush again afterward until the end of second grade. Toothpaste and fluoride do not appear here. Check the details against the sources below before you use them. For a 2-minute timer, see Timer.

3 · Names and sheets

One name per line, up to 30 names with up to 40 characters each. With names, you get one sheet per name. Without names, you get as many copies as you set below, with a line to fill in.

Identical sheets, for example for a group.

Settings as a file

Your browser remembers nothing. Save level, charts, words, picture symbols and start dates as a file and load it again later. The children's names are only in the file if you entered some. The file is only made on your device.

Preview

When printing, choose “Actual size” or “100%”, not “Fit to page”. Otherwise card sizes, cut marks and boxes no longer match.

Choose a picture symbol

Names and photos of childrenNames are personal data. They stay in this browser, are not sent anywhere and are not stored anywhere. The PDF and the file to save are only made on your device, and both contain the names you entered. There are no photos here.

Only names to tick off? Attendance list. A blank sheet? Paper templates. Picture symbols for coat hooks and cubbies: preschool symbols (German). Cooking with picture cards: recipe cards (German) · All kids tools · Feelings cards · Tie a bow

Everything you type stays on this device. The PDF is made here in your browser, nothing is saved.

How it works
  1. 01Choose the level and the chart you need at the top.
  2. 02Change the title, words, picture symbols and start date. The preview shows the first page right away.
  3. 03Download the PDF and print it at “Actual size”.

The four charts. The tooth brushing chart has two boxes per day (morning, evening) or three, plus the KAI card if you like. The picture cards are to cut out and line up, with number, picture and word. The chore chart is a week grid from Monday to Sunday with the “Who?” column. The tick-off calendar has 1 to 6 rows of your own and 2 to 4 weeks.

Date. The weeks in the calendar begin on the start date and run 7 days, not from Monday to Sunday. If the chart starts on a Wednesday, the first column is “Wed” and the last “Tue”. The tool counts in calendar days, so clock changes and leap years are right. Start dates from 2000 to 2100 are allowed.

Format. The calendar comes on A4 landscape if all weeks fit there with boxes of at least 8 × 8 mm, otherwise on A4 portrait. If it fits in neither format, the page tells you how many rows or weeks fit at most. The cards and everything else have a margin of at least 10 mm. Printing is black on white, and the lines are vectors.

Font. Text is set in Helvetica. Umlauts, ß and é work. Letters like ł become the nearest base letter, and emojis and other scripts are missing in print. The page shows this beforehand. Long words are set smaller and, if necessary, shortened with “…”, and the page says that too.

Picture symbols. The 50 motifs from the preschool symbols and 19 everyday motifs, all drawn from lines and curves, with no pictures from the web. The symbols are kept simple. There are no people among them. The few animals (fish, snail, ladybug, butterfly, duck) are drawn simply, some with an eye.

Saving. “Save to a file” writes your entries into a JSON file on your device. A file from another tool, a newer version or a broken file is rejected, and your current state stays as it is.

Limits. At most 30 sheets (names or copies), 12 cards with 24 characters each, 3 to 10 tasks with 40 characters each, 1 to 6 habits with 30 characters each, titles up to 40 characters. A4 only. The tool makes templates to tick off and does not promise that a routine works. The household tasks are suggestions, and supervising stays with you. Whether the boxes and cards line up exactly when printed depends on the printer.

Sources and date

Checked on 2026-10-07. The details on brushing teeth are in the tooth brushing chart and on the KAI card. They are guidance, not dental advice. Phone numbers, recommendations and laws change: Read the sources yourself before you use them, and their own version is always the binding one.

The tool is not an offering of the German Federal Ministry of Health or the German Dental Association and has not been checked by them. I did not take over any texts, pictures or mnemonics from there, and the drawings and wording are my own. I left out the toothpaste amounts and fluoride values from the sources on purpose. There is no source for the household chores: They are suggestions that you adapt to your child.

If you have concerns, ask your dentist's office.
