When printing, choose “Actual size” or “100%”, not “Fit to page”, or the spacing will no longer be right.

Nothing leaves this device. The PDF is created here in the browser.

How it works
  1. 01Choose a template and enter the spacing you need. Every line and every square is calculated from the usable height and width, not estimated.
  2. 02Set the sheet size, margins, binding margin, color and line weight. The preview shows the first page right away.
  3. 03Download the PDF and print it at “Actual size”. Ideally, print one test page first.

How it is calculated. Everything works in millimeters and is converted into the PDF at 72 ⁄ 25.4 points per millimeter. For lines, the usable height or width (sheet minus margin minus binding margin) is always worked out first, and the number of lines follows from that. So the last line always lies inside the margins, never beyond them or cut off halfway.

Home printers. Most printers cannot print right up to the edge of the sheet; 3 to 6 mm of unprintable border all around is typical. A margin under about 6 mm may therefore be missing at the edge, even though it is in the PDF here. With very tight margins, better enter a little more.

Graph paper always has 1 mm lines; every fifth is bolder, every tenth boldest, like real graph paper, but without a line weight to set. Music staves: if the number of staves you want does not fit in the usable height, the preview tells you instead of squeezing staves into each other. Cornell, weekly planner and timetable are plain grids without writing lines inside; those you add by hand. To-do list and checklist have a box on each line and a writing line next to it.

Limits. Only A4, A5, A6 (ISO 216 sizes, as used in Germany) and Letter, only these eleven templates. Sizes and spacing are always in millimeters. With very many pages of a fine graph grid, the PDF can take a few seconds to create and be several megabytes in size. The download still happens in one step.
