Reuse your details

Your browser remembers nothing. Save your details together with the logo as a file and load it again next time.

What is on the card

Name or company must be in it, the rest is optional.

Printed without “https://”, complete in the QR code.

Logo and look

Logo (optional)

PNG or JPG, also WebP and GIF, up to 10 MB. It is scaled down here in your browser to at most 1,000 pixels. On the business card it sits at the top or left depending on the layout, on the appointment and stamp card to the right of the header.

Accent color

For lines, stamp fields, job title and headings. Rich, rather dark colors that any office printer renders cleanly. The rest of the text is black.

Layout

Left: name at the top, contact at the bottom, logo at the top right. Centered: everything centered. Logo left: the logo in a column of its own, set off by a line.

On the right of the card, up to 22 mm in size. It holds your details from above as an electronic business card (vCard), including characters the print font cannot show.

In the print dialog, choose “Actual size” or “100%”, not “Fit to page”, otherwise the 85 × 55 mm are no longer correct. For more cards: set more copies in the print dialog.

Cards need card stockNormal printer paper (80 g/m²) is too thin for cards and creases in a pocket. Use card stock of 250 to 300 g/m² if your printer takes it: the maximum paper weight is in the manual, and thick card stock often only works through a separate feed. Otherwise a copy shop prints the PDF. Print once on plain paper first and measure: a card must be 85 × 55 mm.

How it works
  1. 01Choose the kind at the top: business card, appointment card or stamp card. Enter your details, with logo and color if you like.
  2. 02Choose a back side or leave it out, and check the preview, as a single card or as the whole sheet.
  3. 03Create the PDF, print on card stock at “Actual size” and cut along the marks.

The sheet. Ten cards of 85 × 55 mm, two side by side and five on top of each other, with no gap between them. Together that is 170 × 275 mm, centered on A4: 20 mm margin left and right, 11 mm top and bottom. So one cut per line is enough. The cut marks are short strokes outside in the margin, 2 mm away from the cards, so that no line shows on the card itself. Cut with a ruler and cutter or a lever paper trimmer: first the long cuts, then the short ones. On the front, text, logo and code keep 4 mm distance from the edge, because no cut sits exactly right.

Back side. It is on page 2 of the PDF. In double-sided printing the sheet is flipped on the long edge (the usual setting): then the right column lies behind the left one. That is why the back sides are arranged swapped left and right. Printers often shift the back by 1 to 2 mm; that is why 6 mm of margin remains on the back. If your printer cannot print double-sided, print page 1 first, put the sheet back in and print page 2. A test print on plain paper shows which way round it belongs: hold it up to the light, and you see whether front and back match.

Appointment card and stamp card. The appointment card has the header at the top with business, address and phone, below it “Ihr nächster Termin” (“Your next appointment”) with 3 to 5 lines for date and time to fill in with a pen, and at the bottom the note about canceling. The stamp card has 6 to 12 round fields in two rows and a text like “Jeder 11. Kaffee ist gratis” (“Every 11th coffee is free”). Both texts go to your customers and are therefore in the formal Sie form; you can change them. The back side has room for the opening hours, for example.

Contact QR code. Only on the business card, on the right of the front (up to 22 mm, smaller with “Logo left”) or large on the back (30 mm). It contains name, job title, company, address, phone, email and website as an electronic business card (vCard 3.0), with phone and address as work. After scanning, the phone offers to save the contact. The more details, the finer the pattern: if a single dot becomes smaller than 0.3 mm or the code smaller than 18 mm, the preview says so. Four dots of width stay free around the code, otherwise the camera finds it poorly. The code is a vector and stays sharp on any printer. Try it on the test print with your phone; the preview on screen is too small for that.

Font and characters. The type is set in Helvetica, the standard font of every PDF, name and company in bold. Umlauts, ß, é and € work. Letters like ł or ș become the nearest base letter, and emojis and other scripts (Cyrillic, Greek) drop out; the preview names every affected character. If nothing is left of name and company this way, the “Name” field names the characters, and there is no card until you enter them in Latin letters. Texts that are too long are first set smaller, down to 6 pt, and then shortened with “…”. This also appears under the preview: a shortened email address is useless, so better shorten it yourself.

Logo. PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF up to 10 MB. It is scaled down here in your browser to at most 1,000 pixels and embedded in the PDF. If it becomes blurry in print (under 150 pixels per inch), the preview says so. SVG files do not work, save the logo as PNG first.

Saving. “Save as file” writes all details including the logo into a JSON file on your device, and “Load from file” reads it in again. Nothing stays behind in the browser. A file from another tool or with an unknown version is rejected instead of being half loaded.

Limits. Only the size 85 × 55 mm, ten cards per A4 sheet, all ten the same. Only Helvetica, no custom font and no background image; only lines, stamp fields, job title and headings are in color. Printing does not go all the way to the edge, so the cards have a white margin. Pre-cut business card sheets from the shops have their own sizes and margins (often 85 × 54 mm); this sheet is not matched to them. If you need bleed, spot colors or 1,000 copies, a print shop is the better choice.
