Size of the tiles

1 to 999999. Sets the order of the tiles and, for pictures and math problems, the selection. The same No. and the same entries give the same sheet.

Preview

When printing, choose “Actual size” or “100%”, not “Fit to page”. Otherwise tiles and pieces get smaller. Printing on one side is enough, ideally on thick paper.

How it works
  1. 01Choose dominoes or tangram and set them up. The preview shows the real PDF right away.
  2. 02Download the PDF and print on one side, ideally on thick paper.
  3. 03Cut out tiles or pieces along the lines. Crop marks along the edge show every cutting line.

Dominoes with dots, digits or pictures. You get a complete set: Each number from 0 up to the highest number is on a tile with every other number and with itself, each pair exactly once. Up to 6 that makes 28 tiles, the classic dominoes. With dots, 0 stands for an empty half; the dots are arranged like on a die. With pictures, each number has a picture symbol, chosen by the No. The pictures are outlines to color in or, if you switch it on, in color.

Math dominoes. Here there is no set but a circle: On the left of each tile there is a problem, on the right the answer to the problem on the next tile. Whoever lays all tiles together correctly closes the circle. All answers are different, so each tile fits only one other. Plus and minus go up to 10, 20 or 100; in the small number range there are only a few different answers, then you get fewer tiles than you asked for, and the page tells you. Times is the small times tables with the numbers 2 to 10.

Playing. Shuffle all tiles face down and give each kid a few. The first kid lays a tile, the others take turns laying a tile with the same number, the same picture or the matching answer next to it. Whoever has no matching tile skips a turn. Whoever has no tiles left first wins. With math dominoes, everyone lays the circle together.

Tangram. The classic square of seven pieces: two large, one medium and two small triangles, a square and a parallelogram. Cut along all solid lines. Then lay out shapes, animals or houses, using all seven pieces, without pieces overlapping. The first task: Put all the pieces back together into the square. For this you can get a sheet with empty squares.

Sizes. Dominoes: One tile is made of two squares, 50 × 25, 60 × 30 or 80 × 40 mm. Tangram: The square has 6, 8 or 10 cm sides. Thick paper (160 g/m² or more) lasts longer than thin paper.

Limits. A4 portrait only. Dominoes up to the highest number 6 with dots, 9 with digits, 8 with pictures. With math problems 6 to 24 tiles. Tangram at most 12 sets. There are no templates with shapes to copy; you make up the shapes yourself or find them in a book.
