All about me: profile and friendship book
A sheet to fill in and color for the preschool portfolio, starting school and the friendship book. Everything is optional: fields you leave empty get a line for writing by hand. You can put in a photo, but you do not have to.
1 · All about me
Preschool means about ages 3 to 6. The starting school sheet also asks what the child is looking forward to and what they want to learn.
At most 30 characters. Leave it empty for a line. The name stays in your browser.
Without a photo put in, the field stays empty, with the matching label.
The photo is not uploaded. It is only read in your browser, placed in the PDF and forgotten when you close the page. It is not in the file from “Save as file” either. Photos of children belong in a portfolio only with the parents’ consent.
Every question can be switched off. Birthday and friends are not needed if they should not be on the sheet.
Fill in answers now (optional)
If you prepare the sheet on the computer, you can print answers right away. At most 40 characters per answer. Empty fields stay lines for writing.
1 · The friendship book page
At most 30 characters. The name goes at the top of every page. Leave it empty for a line.
Friends fill in the page by hand. The photo field stays empty: everyone glues in their own photo or draws themselves.
2 · Figure and sheets

1 to 30, every sheet the same. For a friendship book you need as many pages as friends should write.
The preview appears right away.
When printing, choose “Actual size” or “100%”. The sheet is black on white, a normal printer is enough. A photo you put in prints as it is.
Your browser remembers nothing. To keep your entries, save them as a file on your own device. The photo is not in it.

Note for parents and teachers
- 01All about me: choose preschool or starting school, switch questions on and off, and if you like enter the name, a photo and answers. If you enter nothing, you get a sheet with lines to fill in by hand.
- 02Friendship page: choose the questions, set the number of sheets, print. Every friend fills in one page and glues in a photo or draws themselves.
- 03Download the PDF and print it at actual size. The picture field is meant for gluing in a printed photo just as much as for drawing.
What the profile is for. It is a sheet for talking and for the folder, not a test and not an assessment. I wrote the questions myself. Which details are usual in a preschool portfolio is up to the preschool; ask there if you need them. I do not suggest questions about address, phone number or health.
Children’s data. Names and photos are personal data. They stay in your browser until you close the page. The PDF contains them if you enter them, and it is made only on your device. The file from “Save as file” contains the name and answers, but never the photo. If you make sheets with other children’s data, you need the parents’ consent; there is a template for that at /briefe/einwilligung/ (German).
Photo. JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF up to 25 MB. HEIC photos from an iPhone cannot be opened here; save them as JPG first. The image is scaled down to at most 1000 pixels on the long side so the PDF stays small. It goes into the picture field and keeps its proportions.
Font. The text is set in Helvetica. Characters it does not know (emojis, some letters of other languages) are reported at the field; the PDF is made only when everything fits. Answers that are too long are set smaller and, if that is not enough, shortened. That is then shown under “Please check”.
