The sounds are made in your browser. Nothing is loaded, no microphone is used and nothing is stored.

How it works
  1. 01Set the tempo with the slider, the quick pick buttons or by tapping, and choose the time signature.
  2. 02Press “Start”. The one sounds higher when the accent is on. Tempo and time signature can be changed while playing.
  3. 03To tune, switch to “Tuning tone”, choose the tone and the concert pitch and press “Play tone”.

Exactly in time. The metronome schedules every click in advance on the browser's audio clock, not on a page timer. So the beat stays even, even when the page is busy for a moment. If the page runs in the background, the browser may slow it down.

The frequencies. With A4 = 440 Hz, C4 is at 261.63 Hz and the low E string of the guitar at 82.41 Hz. Each semitone is 2 to the power of 1/12 times the previous one.
