Tear-off flyer

A notice for the bulletin board: heading, text, an optional photo and QR code, with tabs with your number to tear off at the bottom. As a PDF to print.

Large, in the color you choose below, at most two lines. The font is set as large as fits.

Up to 600 characters. A blank line starts a new paragraph.

Up to three lines, for example name, phone number and email. The text is printed sideways on each tab.

Each tab is 22.5 mm wide and 60 mm long. Three lines fit side by side.

Photo or image (optional)
Where does the image go?

Placed to the right of the text, with its content in plain text below.

Sheet

A3 needs a printer that can do A3, or a print shop.

Heading color

Text, lines and QR codes print in black or gray, your photo as it is. The colors are dark enough to stay easy to read even from a simple printer.

1 to 20. The same page several times in one PDF, handy for the print shop.

Keep for later

Stores all details, including the image, as a file on your device. The page itself remembers nothing.

Preview page 1

When printing, choose “Actual size” or “100%”, not “Fit to page”. Otherwise the tabs come out narrower than stated here.

Just a QR code to print? Create a QR code

Nothing leaves this device: text, photo and PDF are created here in your browser.

How it works
  1. 01Enter the heading, the text and the lines for the tabs. Photo and QR code are optional.
  2. 02Choose the number of tabs, the sheet and the color. The preview shows right away what will be printed.
  3. 03Download the PDF, print it at actual size, cut the vertical lines from the bottom edge up to the cross line and fold the cross line a few times. Then the tabs tear off cleanly.

Font size. Heading, text and tabs are set as large as fits, automatically. The heading gets at most two lines; a very long word is set smaller for that and split if needed. If something does not fit even at the smallest size, the preview tells you what is missing instead of silently leaving it out.

Tabs. The tabs share the width between the margins evenly: on A4 that is 180 mm, so 22.5 mm per tab with 8 tabs. On A4, three lines fit side by side with up to 12 tabs, with 13 and 14 only two; a third line is then dropped, and the preview says so. On A3, three always fit. If a line is too long, it ends with “…”.

QR code. With a phone number, the phone offers to call it when scanned, so the field takes only the number, nothing else. With an email address, a new email opens, with a link, the page. The QR code is drawn as a vector and stays sharp when printed. Below it, its content appears in plain text, at most three lines; whatever does not fit ends with “…”, and the preview says so.

Small QR code on the tabs. It is 20 mm in size (A3: 28 mm), smaller on narrow tabs. With long content it gets a little larger so its dots stay at least 0.45 mm; the text on the tab then gets less room. If it still does not fit, the tool leaves it out and tells you with how many tabs it fits or that the content is too long for it. Try it once with your phone before you put the notice up.

Photo. The image is reduced here in your browser to at most 1,600 pixels on the longer side and embedded in the PDF. The rotation from the phone photo is kept.

Limits. Only the standard font Helvetica, only A4 and A3 portrait. Only the heading and your photo are in color. Text, lines and QR codes print in black or gray. Characters this font does not know (emojis, some letters from other languages) are missing from the PDF or replaced; the preview names them. Most printers leave 3 to 6 mm free at the edge of the sheet, which is why there is a 15 mm (A3: 20 mm) margin all around.

Save as file. Saves texts, settings and the reduced image in a JSON file on your device. “Load from file” reads it back in, only files from this tool.
