Class list and grade chart

Type in names and grade columns or paste them from a spreadsheet. You get a class list with grade columns, with the grades filled in if you like, and a grade chart with the spread and average per test. The PDF is in German, for German schools.

Applies to Germany. Deadlines, tax rates, public holidays and requirements on this page follow German law. Austria, Switzerland and other countries have different rules.

What goes into the PDF?

Class and subject

You enter this once and it appears in every part. Your entries stay on this page only, your browser remembers nothing.

Columns, names and grades

For example Test 1, Oral, Quiz. At most 8 columns of 24 characters each. Without columns you get a plain list of names. The column titles are printed in German, so they are in German here too.

Name and grades separated by semicolons, the way they come out of a spreadsheet. A grade is missing? Leave the field empty. Allowed are 1 to 6, with a tendency (2+, 2-) and in-between grades (2-3). At most 100 children. Names and grades do not leave this device.

When printing, choose “Actual size” or “100%”. The PDF contains names and grades: do not pin it up, and lock it away.

Nothing leaves this device. Names, grades and all texts stay in your browser, the PDF is created here and is not uploaded.

How it works
  1. 01Choose the parts, then enter class and subject.
  2. 02Set the columns, then paste in the children with their grades. The preview shows the first page.
  3. 03Download the PDF and print it.

From a spreadsheet. Select the column with the names and the grade columns in your spreadsheet and paste them in. Cells are then separated by a tab, which the page reads like a semicolon.

Grade chart. It counts, per column, how often the grades 1 to 6 occur and shows the average. Tendencies (2+, 2-) and in-between grades (2-3) count toward the nearest whole grade, from .5 up toward the worse one. The average uses the exact values: a plus subtracts 0.25, a minus adds 0.25. The report card grade is up to the teacher. For point scales and conversion there is the grade scale calculator (German).

Limits. Only the Helvetica font, which every PDF program knows: characters outside Western Europe appear as question marks, and the page tells you. A4 portrait, black on white. The German grade scale from 1 to 6 applies.
